Spotlighting and celebrating UK small business
Small Business Britain is proud to spearhead some incredible campaigns, each with all small businesses at their heart.
Small Business Saturday
Small Business Saturday celebrates the UK's much-loved 5.7 million small businesses and encourages the nation to show their support, particularly by spending and shopping small.
Small Business Saturday takes place on the first Saturday in December but is not just a date. It's a year-round national movement to spotlight the small businesses that make a big difference to our communities and economy.
With the support of American Express, the campaign has reached millions of people, with billions spent with small businesses and is proudly in its thirteenth year in the UK.
From independent retailers to local service providers, the goal is simple. Help small businesses thrive.
We believe in the power of small. Small is personal. Small is resilient. Small is at the heart of every neighbourhood. Through Small Business Saturday we travel the length and breadth of the country to share stories, amplify voices and celebrate the people who make small business mighty. The result is showcasing a massive showing of support, love and celebration for the Nation's Favourite Businesses.

Great British Pitch
It is an exciting time for growing a small business in the UK with many opportunities on offer for small businesses to export on a global scale, providing vital growth and visibility.
To help small business owners get to know more about exporting and the real opportunity it presents, Small Business Britain and Government's Department of Business and Trade (DBT) launched the Great British Pitch campaign in November 2025.
This was created to sustain a pipeline of confident, export-ready small businesses by reducing barriers, improving knowledge and opening doors to international opportunities.
The Great British Pitch took place during International Trade Week 2025 with a one-day, in-person event held at BT's HQ in London.
It welcomed more than 100 small businesses giving them the opportunity to secure global export deals and experience pitching to an international audience.
Each business was given a pitching slot to buyers from all over the world, including the USA, India, Jordan, Singapore, South America and more, with many walking away with incredible experience and follow-up conversations.
This year there are three Great British Pitch events!

The Small Awards
The Small Awards, launched in 2017, is the Oscars of the small business world and celebrates businesses often overlooked by other awards. With 5.7 million small businesses in the UK, there are huge numbers of small businesses doing great things that may not be recognised by awards due to geography, scale or even awareness of the benefits such awards can bring.
Now in its tenth year, the Awards have grown into a nationally recognised event honouring the incredible small businesses all over the UK and culminating in an incredible live event.
